Dr. Goodluck Jonathan had a brief conversation with reporters on Friday 4th of December, 2020 after attending an event organised by the Commonwealth Community Choir in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
When asked if he would be joining the presidential race in the 2023, general election, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan said “It
is too early to talk about that ”.The Ex-president also spoke about the insecurity in the country and called for support for the federal government and security agencies to overcome the challenges, stressing that he faced similarly challenge during his time.
Following the defection of the former President, Goodluck Jonathan from the People's Democratic Party (PDP) to All Progressive Congress (APC), rumours have been spreading around that the ex-president will be contesting for the office of President in 2023.
Speculations that Goodluck Jonathan may take over power from President Mohammadu Buhari, may not end soon, as the ex president could not give a definite position on his rumoured ambition.
